Kasas Kenya

A solo end-to-end commercial film for Kasas Air Charter, a Nairobi-based aviation operator. The brief was a 2½-minute promotional piece covering Kasas’s three operational lines — charter, ACMI lease, and special-mission flying — that could carry the company’s positioning to corporate clients and government tender boards alike.

Everything in the deliverable is mine: pre-production, location and crew coordination, aerial and ground filming, gimbal and long-lens work, sound recording, edit, grade, sound mix, and final delivery. No external crew, no agency in between.

Approach

The piece intercuts aerial-to-aerial flying coverage (drone-to-aircraft), interior cockpit shots from inside the operating aircraft, and ground-level establishing shots of Kasas’s hangars and crew. The aerial-of-aerial sequences required coordinated flight patterns between the drone platform and the subject aircraft — close enough to read the airframe, far enough to keep the safety envelope honest.

Kit on the day

DJI Inspire 3 (drone), Sony FX6 (ground + cockpit), Sony 200-600mm telephoto (long-lens detail), DJI RS3 gimbal (handheld dynamic shots), Rode NTG4+ on a Sound Devices MixPre-3 mk2 (production audio). Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve in post.

Outcome

Delivered on schedule. Currently the lead piece on Kasas’s marketing surface and in their tender packs.
